Located only two hours northeast of Los Angeles, Ojai is conveniently located just 70 miles north of Los Angeles and a mere 12 miles from the ocean. Valued for its mediterranean climate, orange blossoms, lavender farms, golf courses and spas, Ojai is a small town getaway haven. The valley is unique geographically in that it is positioned east to west, which every day creates stunningly pink sunsets and the land is populated by fragrant chaparral, sagebrush and oak trees.
The town prohibits any chain stores or restaurants and instead is filled with independently owned clothing and design shops, art galleries, an open air bookstore, farmer’s market and farm to table restaurants.
Ojai is considered by many to be a vortex of spiritual energy. Great spiritual philosophers and teachers such as Krishnamurti and Byron Katie have lived and taught here. Today the Krishnamurti Foundation Center offers a wide range of programming and Meditation Mount is a popular meditation garden on top of a hillside where one can visit for contemplation and gorgeous sunsets. Many artists, intellectuals, spiritual teachers, and seekers have made Ojai their home adding to the uniqueness of this locale.
To get there, you can easily fly into LAX, Santa Barbara, or Burbank and arrange for transportation on your own or through the resort. (see map)
